Objectives              

SAFEGUARD is an approach to the application of Intelligent Agent Theory and Technologies aimed at enhancing the dependability and survivability of  Large Complex Critical Infrastructure (LCCIs), such as distributed electric and telecommunication networks.

We take under consideration the points of view of LCCIs owners, operators and customers: 

+ LCCIs customers  need the reliability and continuous providing of the services as long as possible and at low cost as possible .

+  LCCIs operators wish to be well informed about the infrastructure state and require its efficient management to satisfy customers expectations
.
+ LCCIs owners are focused on the socio-economic aspects of  LCCIs.
 
Scientific Objectives
 to validate the applicability and efficacy of an intelligent agent
 organisation (and related    methodologies and methods) in support of LCCIs for ensuring their dependability and survivability.
 

Technological Objectives
 to develop the middleware for software agent components and their integration.
