Project
CIMA , Computer Intelligent
Managerial Advisors
for High Risk Decision
Support. CIMA is focused on reinforcement of management intelligence, it
is a scientific-technology
collaboration of ENEA and IBS-PAN
(Institute of Systems Research, Polish Academy of Science).
The project has been activated in frame of the Polish-Italian Bilateral
Scientific Cooperation
(The Government Italo-Polish Commission: Scientific cooperation is based
on the Italian - Polish
agreement signed 27/11/1960).
The project has been defined in the area of newest systemic cross-disciplinary
socio-cognitive
approaches, always more frequently requested for the solutions of complex
real world problems
of the modern global information society on its way to a sustainable development.
The CIMA project deals with the integrated modeling of distributed
reasoning processes in
the managerial decision-making under uncertain high-risk
constrains.
The cooperation is a research platform for the expected common participation
in EU or other
international projects based on socio-cognitive
engineering and validation of methodologies,
models and technologies for multipurpose managerial IDSSs ( Intelligent
Decision Support
Systems )
for high-risk decisions. The cooperation includes common organization of
sc. meeting
and promotions of new research initiatives.
Preselected Polish business organizations were considered as test-case
end-users and the
domain experts.
Main initiatives:
Organization of the Special
Session on SOCIO-COGNITIVE ENGINEERING IN THE MODELLING OF BUSINESS
INTELLIGENCE in conjunction with the BIS 2002 Conference.

Project HAM - Human
Agent cognitive Modeling (since 1999):
This is
a long-term ENEA's scientific cooperation with ECONA
(Interuniversity Center for the
Research on Cognitive Processing in Natural and Artificial Systems), Rome.
HAM objective is a theoretical and experimental validation of methodological
frames for the
cognitive modeling of a human agent mind (user-modeling) and an artificial cognitive
advisor for the
conceptual cooperation between humans and intelligent (or proto-intelligent)
machines.
The cooperation iincludes promotion of common scientific
events: seminars, workshops,
and is based on a synergy of research.
The research effort is oriented towards the modeling of the abstract
cognitive/mind functions and, in
consequence, should lead to their computer simulations, understanding and
the development
of
highly-intelligent
Decision Support Systems (IDSS).
The methodology framework employed is initially based on the TOGA meta-theory and
the IPK
cognitive agent architecture [IPK
Cognitive Agent prototype] .

American-italian G-DIN
challenger - for the GDIN2002
Conference, June 18-22, 2002,
Rome Italy.
(Sponsor: Dr. Raniero Guerra, Director General, International
Relations, Instituto Superiore di
Sanita, Italy).
This activity is a consequence of the previous long-term ENEA's MINDES

a precedent participation in the GEMINI
initiatives. The modeling of G-DIN domains and
interventions require strong systemic socio-cognitive engineering

Mobile Learning and e-Learning
Initiatives
m-Learning<
e-Learning < Distance Learning < Instruction
-
FAD
(Formazione
A Distanza):
The
practical aspects of this field are managed in ENEA by
Anna Moreno together with Usability
Lab ( F.Fontana)
This activity is focused on (
e-Learning <
Distance Learning
< Instruction )
- One of
HID Group interests
is focused on : reinforcement of intelligence
by e-learning
technologies and methods, investigation and development of student
and tutor generic cognitive
reasoning models for the definition of e-learning/instruction strategy
and for the design of
e-Learning Intelligent Support Systems (see also the
EMIR proposal).
-
Theoretical base for e-Learning and
m-learning is the
IPK methodological frame.
A cooperative e-learning and distributed m-learning based on the TOGA
meta-theory conceptual
frameworks should enable to construct active
gnosis (==IPK*) structures and domain-oriented
hypotheses of learning strategies
on the various IPK
meta-levels.
Moreover, proper inquiry strategy may provide an opportunity
to teach students of a
meta-cognitive thinking, which in turn should improve reflection, monitoring,
and exploratory
controlling of their own cognitive learning processes.
- Modeling of the cognitive intefrace and
flexible support for m-learning in emergency
situations.

(*) gnosis
( in TOGA)
is defined as: information or preferences or knowledge or all together
and it is always
related to a preselected domain/(s) of activity of a cognitive agent.
